Eighth Army Deploys DRASH Command Post
On November 15, the Eighth US Army (EUSA) deployed its DRASH Command Post to Rodriguez Live Fire Complex at the Autumn Breeze 2010 exercise near the Korean demilitarized zone.
The Command Post was comprised of five TMSS Large and 19 TMSS Medium Systems, providing a total of over 14,000 square feet of workspace. The DRASH TMSS Systems have been the Army's standard command post for the past several years, and are an integral part of the US Army SICPS program.
The quick erect and strike capabilities of DRASH Systems have been key to 8th Army's transition from a fixed command to a field army. "Eighth Army will not be a stationary command," said SGM Jed Hawkland. "We will be a command headquarters that can be deployed." To support this conversion, Eighth Army set up the DRASH Command Post on a live-fire training range, near the most heavily armed border in the world.
