Intelligent Power Technology®

DRASH Intelligent Power Technology® (IPT) Trailers combine the proven reliability of DRASH Utility Support Transport (UST) Trailers with a digital smart system to create networked power for today's battlefield.

Designed to meet users’ unique power generation needs, DRASH IPT Trailers allow personnel to operate generators together in parallel, not only helping to reduce current military fuel consumption, but reducing maintenance and providing users with greater flexibility as well.

Here's a look at how traditional analog generators stack up against DRASH IPT Trailers:

ANALOG

INTELLIGENT POWER TECHNOLOGY®

Designed to run on "island mode," operating independently of other generators used to power the command center.

Allows personnel to connect multiple generators together in parallel, creating a deployable power grid.
Sized to run peak loads, often providing more power than as is actually required.

Power management system with automatic start/stop capabilities only runs the number of generators needed to meet immediate power requirements.
Multiple generators continuously runnng on partial loads creates unnecessary runtime hours and uses exorbitant amounts of fuel.

Load sharing ensures that demand for power will be distributed among generators left running, optimizing fuel usage.
Unexpected peaks in demand can lead to brownouts.

Load shedding turns off low-priority equipment to prevent brownouts during sudden peaks in demand.
Simple analog guage provides limited power output information.

Onboard digital monitoring system provides detailed power output information and tracks fuel consumption.
Unburned fuel can clog the engine block, leading to such maintenance issues as wet-stacking.

Anti-wet stacking prevents engine from being clogged with unburned fuel.
Power output of 18 kW.    Power output of 22kW.

TOC Using DRASH IPT Trailers

Generators running on "island mode." From a power perspective, the above tactical operations center (TOC) is comprised of three separate facilities that each require its own generator.   DRASH IPT Trailers allow personnel to connect generators to run together as a single power grid and reduce fuel consumption. In this TOC, all generators are working together as a single power grid.

Plug-and-Play capabilities allow users to easily connect IPT Trailers as needed, while simple connectorized cabling eliminates the need for any hardwiring. Additionally, insulated shelters, such as the dual-walled DRASH system, can be integrated to help reduce heating and cooling loads to further reduce fuel consumption.

DRASH IPT Trailers are currently available in four models: the HP-2C/288, HP-4G/18, HP-4G/33 and the HP-6G/18.
